Project => Manage => Pack
Sonnet Task Bar - Project Menu - Project Manage Menu
Selecting Project => Manage => Pack from the main menu of the Sonnet task bar opens the Pack Project dialog box. This dialog box allows you to pack a project into a Sonnet archive file with the same basename as the source project file and the extension ''.zon''. This archive file makes it easy to move projects from one computer system to another. You use the unpack command to restore the project file on the destination system.
To pack a project into a Sonnet archive file, do the following:
1. Select Project => Manage => Pack from the Sonnet task bar main menu.
The Pack Project dialog box appears on your display.
2. Enter the directory in which the projects(s) you wish to pack are located.
If you do not wish to enter the project directly, you may also click on the Browse button to open a browse window which allows you to select a project on your computer. Using the browse window updates both the Directory and Project(s) text entry boxes.
3. Enter the name of the existing project(s) that you wish to pack in the Project(s) text entry box in the From section of the Pack Project dialog box.
If you input multiple project names, separate the names using a comma (,) semi-colon (;) or space. If the project name contains a space, then the name should be enclosed in quotes, i.e., ''Comb filter.zon''.
You may select a single project to pack, or multiple files to pack. Note that by holding down the Control key, you may select multiple projects in the browse window.
4. If you wish to generate the archive files in the same directory in which the source project(s) are presently located, click on the Use ''From'' Directory radio button.
When you click on the Unpack button, the archive files entered in the Project(s) text entry box are unpacked in the same directory in which the archive is located. Go to Step 8.
5. If you wish to place the archive files in a different directory than the source project is in, click on the Use This Directory radio button.
This enables the text entry box just below.
6. Enter the directory where you want the archive files placed in the text entry box below the radio buttons.
If you do not wish to enter the directory directly, you may also click on the Browse button to open a browse window which allows you to select a directory on your computer.
7. The selected directory is displayed in the To section of the dialog box. The archive files are placed in the destination directory.
For example, if you select ''steps.son'' and ''filter.son'', two archive files, ''steps.zon'' and ''filter.zon'' and any accompanying files are written to the destination directory.
8. If you wish to include the Current Density data, ABS caching data or External Files in the archive file, select the appropriate checkbox.
When you are packing your project you can choose whether to include this data and/or files, which can be sizable, in the archive file.
9. If there are additional files you wish to include in the archive file, click on the Additional Files button to open the Additional Files dialog box which allows you to specify additional files on your system to be included in the pack.
10. Click on the Pack button to execute the pack.
This executes the pack command on the specified files. Messages indicating the progress of the pack are displayed in the Pack Project dialog box.
If an error occurs during a pack,
a warning symbol appears in the pack dialog box. Click on the View
Details button for more information about the pack execution.
11. When the pack is complete, click on the Close button to close the dialog box.
You may perform multiple pack commands before closing the dialog box.
Packing of this file into the archive file utilizes Info-ZIP's Zip (c)1990-2000.
