How do I select which parameter(s) to use in an optimization?
You select which parameters to use in the Optimization Parameters dialog box which is opened when you click on the Add button at the upper right hand corner of the Parameters list in the Analysis Setup dialog box. See How do I select an optimization? for more details.
To select a parameter, do the following:
The Optimization Parameters dialog box lists all the parameters which are defined in your project with a checkbox next to them. To select a parameter for an optimization, click on this checkbox. This enables the Min. and Max. text entry boxes for that parameter. You may select multiple parameters, but keep in mind that the more parameters being used, the more parameter combinations will exist which increases processing time.
Enter the minimum value for the parameter in the Min. text entry box.
Enter the maximum value for the parameter in the Max. text entry box. These two entries define the value range for the parameter in the optimization.
The nominal value is the present value of the parameter as it appears in the circuit. If you wish to use another nominal value, you may enter a new value here. Be aware that your circuit is redrawn to reflect the new value.
When you are done entering parameters, click on the OK button to close the Optimization Parameters dialog box. A list of parameters in your project appears in the Parameters list. Parameters selected for optimization are displayed with their value range. Parameters which are not selected are listed with their nominal value with the word (fixed) after them.
