How do I use a metal type from the metal library?

Geometry Elements - Metal Types

When you create a metal type in your project, you can use your own custom metal by manually entering the loss parameters or you can use a metal type from the metal library. To define a new metal type using a metal from the metal library, do the following:

1.   Select Circuit => Metal Types from the project editor main menu.

2.   The Metal Types dialog box appears. Click on the Add button.

5.   Select the desired library by clicking on the My Library or Global Library radio button.

The Global Library is selected in the graphic above.

6.   Click on the desired metal in the list which appears when you select your library.

If there are no entries in your library (default for My Library after installation) then you must first enter metals in the library. See the ''Metalization and Dielectric Loss'' chapter in the Sonnet User's Guide on editing your metal libraries.

7.   Click on the OK button in the Metal Library dialog box.

The parameters of your selected metal appear in the text entry boxes of the Metal Editor dialog box. For more details about how the parameters are used, see the Metal Editor dialog box.

8.   Click on the OK button in the Metal Editor dialog box.

The metal type appears in the list of metal types available for this project in the Metal Types dialog box.

9.   Click on the OK button in the Metal Types dialog box.

This metal type is now available to apply to polygons and the top and bottom metal of the box enclosure. You may also select this metal as your Metal for New Polygons.
