Tools => Add Port

Project Editor Menu - Tools Menu

Use Tools => Add Port to add ports to the edge of a polygon. Select Tools => Add Port to place the Project Editor in Add Port mode, as indicated by a change in cursor and the messages in the status bar at the bottom of the Project Editor window. Then click on the center of the desired edge of the polygon to which you wish to add a port.

Ports are nearly always placed on the edge of the substrate so that the port has access to ground. Note that the edge of the polygon must be on the substrate edge for the port to have access to ground. If this is not the case, em issues an error message and terminates.

NOTE:      If you wish to add an auto-grounded or co-calibrated port, you must first add the port as described above, then go to the Port Properties dialog box to change its type to auto-grounded or co-calibrated.

If you wish to add multiple ports, press the shift key while making your menu selection and ESC to return to pointer mode when you are done.

To delete a port, return to pointer mode by selecting Tools => Pointer or pressing the ESC key. Click on the port to select it, then use Edit => Cut to delete it.

For a detailed discussion of ports, please refer to the ''Ports'' chapter in the Sonnet User's Guide.
