What is a calibration group?

Geometry Elements - Co-calibrated Internal Port Calibration Groups

A calibration group is an association of one or more co-calibrated ports that share a common ground and are de-embedded simultaneously during the analysis. A calibration group represents all the connections needed for the element that will be hooked up using circuit theory at a later time, outside the Sonnet environment. The number of ports in the calibration group should equal the number of terminals and ground references on the element.

Properties of the calibration group are set up in the Calibration Properties dialog box. All settings for the calibration group are applied to all the co-calibrated ports in the calibration group. You assign a co-calibrated port to a calibration group in the Port Properties dialog box. The names for calibration are automatically created by the project editor and cannot be customized by you. The name of the calibration group, usually a single letter, appears on all the port signals in a calibration group as shown below.
