What Video card do you recommend I have in order to run Sonnet?

FAQs

To use the 3D viewer, in either the project editor or the response viewer, you must have OpenGL compatibility. Historically, nVidia based video cards tend to have better support for OpenGL than ATI based video cards. If you are purchasing a PC on which to run Sonnet, we recommend getting an nVidia video card.

If your video card has compatibility problems with OpenGL, the project editor or current density viewer will crash when you attempt to view your circuit in 3D. In some cases, turning down the Hardware Acceleration setting in the Display Properties of Windows can prevent crashes.

Turn down the Hardware Acceleration setting

1. Right-click on your display and select Properties from the pop-up menu which appears.

2. Click on the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box.

3. Click on the Advanced button.

4. Click on the Troubleshoot tab.

5. Move the slider on Hardware Acceleration to a lower setting.

Note that this solution only applies to machines running a Windows OS.
