Dielectric Layer Thickness Does Not Update Properly in the Dielectric Layers window

Known Bugs

Symptoms

You enter a value for the thickness of a dielectric layer in the Dielectric Layers dialog box, but the value is not changed. The next time the dialog box is opened the new value you entered is not displayed. You may also notice that the layer thickness in the 3D view does not change. This problem only occurs for layers which you have to scroll down to in order to see. This bug is unique to version 11.54; it does not occur in other versions such as 11.52.

Cause

A bug prevents the thickness of a dielectric layer to be edited in the Dielectric Layers dialog box if your project has seven or more dielectric layers.

Work around

To enter a new thickness for a dielectric layer, use the Dielectric Editor rather than the Dielectric Layers dialog box.  To use the dielectric editor, do the following:

  1. Open the project in the project editor.

  2. Select Circuit => Dielectric Layers from the project editor main menu.

  3. In the Dielectric Layers dialog box which appears, select the dielectric layer whose thickness you wish to change.

  4. Click on the Edit button in the Dielectric Layers window to open the Dielectric Editor.

  5. Enter the new value for thickness in the Thickness text entry box in the Dielectric Editor.

  6. Click on the OK button to close the Dielectric Editor. The new thickness is now displayed in the Dielectric Layers dialog box and will be saved when you click OK and close the Dielectric Layers dialog box.
